Description Roman, Imperial Period, ca. 1st to 3rd century CE. A group of fourteen beautiful intaglios. One, featuring what appears to be Apollo or another youthful god, is a wine red garnet. Two others, both showing a woman's head in profile, are black and white sardonyx. The rest are a more translucent red carnelian, and include Cupid (Eros), a female sphinx, a helmeted god, a bearded man, and multiple scenes of people at worship.
