1) A skilfully carved netsuke, depicting an old man's head in a shell (possibly Jurodzin, one of the Seven Gods of happiness in Shinto). Signed. 2) A carved horn netsuke depicting Hotei, one of the Seven Gods of happiness in Shinto. He is the embodiment of abundance and good health. Depicted with a laughing face and a big belly. Unsigned. 3) A A carved horn netsuke depicting Bishamonten, one of the Seven Gods of halliness in Shinto. In Japan, he is portrayed wearing armor, holding a spear in one hand and a small pagoda in the other. The pagoda depicts the divine treasury, which God guards and from which distributes wealth to the worthy.
