Note: Interestingly, of the well-known group of New York sideboards most often attributed to Duncan Phyfe, and referred to as a Modified ?French Sideboard?, the lot offered here (# 039) has a number of similarities to the sideboard that descended in the Phyfe family, now conserved at the Museum of the City of New York; including: architectural scale, distinctive figured veneer and specific classical attributes.
