Japanese black-lacquered six-section inro, probably Meiji period, decorated in low relief and mother-of -pearl with a mounted warrior, the reverse with cockerel before bamboo, underside of cover with inscribed paper label, interior and collars with red and gilt flecked decoration, two rows of gilt characters beneath, 9cm high overall Condition: Two small section s of mother-of-pearl missing to warriors helmet. Minor loss to lower edge of bottom section. No cord holes to sides of inro and there is no ojime bead. Wear to gilding at top of bamboo to side of cover. **General condition consistent with age
