Mid 18th Century 'red walnut' elbow chair, probably Irish, the vase splat carved with shamrocks and other foliage, between 'shepherd's crook' arms, the drop-in seat on cabriole front supports carved with 'Green Man' masks, with blocked and turned rear supports and turned H-stretcher, 88.5cm high Condition: Cracks to both sides of top rail, both arms appear to have been slightly shortened. Entire chair backers are very squat design and may have been reduced in height. Drop-in seat has later seat covering. Front section of one pad foot is either reattached or is an old replacement. Some old worm scarring to rear seat rail. Sold as seen. **General condition consistent with age
