THE BEATLES. Signatures of George Harrison, Ringo Starr, John Lennon and Paul McCartney on the inside of a 'Piccadilly' cigarette packet. Inscribed 'To Doctor (altered from 'Sister') from the Beatles.' General consensus is that all four signatures are in the hand of George Harrison. Harrison practised signing the autographs of other band members and became very adept at it. Date is probably late 1963. Provenance: According to the vendor, in 1962 she had just qualified as a doctor and was working as a house surgeon in a hospital in Chelmsford, Essex. She performed a successful operation on a builder who had been doing some building work for George Harrison. In gratitude he obtained the signatures and gave them to the doctor and ward sister.
