MEIJI PERIOD (LATE 19TH CENTURY), ATTRIBUTED TO SHIBATA ZESHIN (1807-1891) Rectangular, with drop front ecnclosing six drawers with metal pulls, the exterior of the cabinet designed with high-relief lacquer appliqués simulating iron and soft-metal sword fittings on a red ground, the finely lacquered motifs, the edges recessed and finished in metallic dark gray; with incised silver fittings 13 ? x 12 ? x 9 in. (34.9 x 30.8 x 22.9 cm.)
