By Shokiku, early 19th centuryResting on a broken section of bamboo, its fleshy body kept in a compact form under its large shell, the texture of the bamboo partly delineated with ukibori, the wood slightly worn; signed Shokiku saku (made by Shokiku). 4.2cm (1 5/8in).
