On January 3rd 1752 the Geldermalsen struck a reef on her return journey to the Netherlands and sank in the South China Sea. The cargo was recovered by Capt. Michael Hatcher and associates in 1985 and then sold by Christie's Amsterdam? -??'The Nanking Cargo. Chinese Export Porcelain and Gold'?on 28?April -?2 May?1986.?
