A Chinese blue and red underglazed porcelain bowl with a 6-character Kangxi mark and of the period. The exterior depicts 5 fish among flowers with a wave ground. The interior depicts a band of sea creatures around a central roundel of a leaping carp. Dimensions are: 3 3/4 inches tall X 8 inches wide, 9.5 cm tall X 20.3 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is a crack in the rim. Provenance: From Mrs. Fullerton in New Jersey. Her father, Maurice Etangs, was chief of police in Tianjin, China and lived there from 1935 to 1945. These items were collected during that time.
