A Chinese hardwood and stone table screen dating from the 16th to the 17th century. The frame and stand are inset with chips of mother of pearl, and the plaque depicts a bird on a flowering branch on each side. Dimensions are: the frame measures 27 inches tall X 26 inches wide, 68.6 cm tall X 66 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Significant chipping, breakage, and loss. Provenance: From a collector in San Francisco. A similar object was sold at Christie's London, November 5, 2014, Lot 104. A comparable Ming Dynasty black lacquered and inlaid screen was sold at Sotheby's Hong Kong, October 8, 2013, Lot 3287.
