A Chinese gilt bronze Buddha dating from the 18th century. The Buddha is seated on a double lotus pedestal in the Amitabha or meditation mudra and has a round mandorla behind him. Dimensions are: 8 1/2 inches tall X 5 1/2 inches wide, 21.6 cm tall X 14 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: There is wear to the gilt and some possible areas of repair at the base. Provenance: From the estate of Jerry Lee Musslewhite who traveled extensively in Asia while working for the State Department in the 1950s and 1960s.
