A Chinese watercolor and ink painting on silk dating from the 17th century. The painting depicts a landscape scene on a hillside with a fisherman overlooking rice paddies. It is matted and framed. Dimensions are: 8 1/4 in. tall X 14 1/2 in. wide, 21 cm tall X 36.8 cm wide. The frame measures 12 1/2 in. tall X 18 3/4 in. wide, 31.8 cm tall X 47.6 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: The silk is brittle and severely cracked; the silk shows multiple areas of repair. Provenance: From a Washington D.C. collector, whose grandfather was a US military advisor to Chiang Kai-shek.
