A pair of Chinese watercolor and ink manuscript pages on paper, dating from the 18th to the 19th century. The blue-ground pages include a gold calligraphy with a leaf outline and a painting on a real leaf. The pages are mounted on a silk backing and framed. Dimensions are: each measures 10 in. tall X 6 3/4 in. wide, 25.4 cm tall X 17.1 cm wide. All measurements are approximate. Condition: Overall good condition. Provenance: From the estate of Frederick C. McMillen. Mr. McMillen was sent to China by the US government after WWII to oversee rebuilding projects funded by UN grants. He worked closely with top Chinese Nationalist government officers in banking and finance sectors.
