Japan, 1868-1920Of flattened shield form, with a threaded stopper and a ruyi form foot, the copper ground body embellished with other alloys, front and back bearing the same design of a central panel with an array of blossoms bordered by eleven butterflies, bearing kui dragons with bifurcated tails as handles on the sides, with a later chain strap. 2 1/4in (5.5cm) high
