The marble top with a three-quarter gallery above three frieze drawers over a cylinder top, the interior with a leather-inset sliding writing panel and small drawers, the sides with leather-lined slides, raised on tapering fluted legs.

Condition Report Previous restorations and replacements throughout, restorations and replacements to veneers, old marks and scratches, some sunfading, repair to left side of case and now with patches, right side of case with lifting to brass stringing, polish residue to brass mounts on legs and corrosion to brass mounts on feet, obscuring varnish to legs, which appear slightly lighter than case, right side missing a brass piece, replaced piece of wood on right side, handles to cylinder top later, back sunfaded and with water damage and perishing to varnish; quatrefoil-form locks lacking keys.
