Description Latex and rubber, unsigned.
22 x 11 x 7 in.
Note: London-based sculptor Alex Hoda challenges his viewer's experience with sculpture by playing with the idea that the viewer's subconscious brings meaning to the work. Based in Surrealist ideology, Hoda's early works depict groupings of post-apocalyptic figures in his signature latex and rubber. They are fetishistic and confrontational, forcing the viewer to confront their anxieties and fantasies and, ultimately, to question the figurative versus abstract nature of the work.
