Note: Stuart Preston was an art critic for The New York Times. Preston and Richardson maintained regular correspondence through letters while Richardson was living in France. In the forward to his book?The Sorcerer's Apprentice, Richardson wrote that he relied on these letters during the course of writing his memoir.? Preston?died in 2005 at the age of 89.
