Bull City Summer Portfolio (Complete Portfolio of 15 Photographs by Alec Soth, Hank Willis Thomas, and Hiroshi Watanabe)complete portfolio of (15) archival prints, 2013, edition 8/13, to include (5) photographs by Alec Soth (American, born 1969); (5) photographs by Hank Willis Thomas (American, born 1976); and (5) photographs by Hiroshi Watanabe (Japanese, born 1951), each artist signed and numbered to verso, issued by Daylight Books, Durham, presented in clamshell portfolio case with inventory list of photographs. Complete List of Photographs: Alec Soth: Center Field #2, Center Field #3, Holly, Crystal, and Geoff Hank Willis Thomas: A Futile Attempt to Take a Portrait of Everyone Who Attended the Last Regular Season Game Hiroshi Watanabe: Craig Albernaz's (Catcher) Leg Protector, Baseball Nets, Baseball 1, Zero, and Trainer's Tools Lot also includes book written for the project, Bull City Summer: A Season at the Ballpark (2014). Sheet Size 14 x 11 in. (some oriented horizontally); Portfolio 15 x 12 in. The Bull City Summer Portfolio was inspired by the 25th anniversary of the film Bull Durham, which brought worldwide attention to the Durham Bulls baseball team when it was released in 1988. Mounted as a record of the 2013 season of the Durham Bulls, America's most successful and best-known minor league baseball team, Bull City Summer comprises the work of both local North Carolina photographers and several internationally-recognized photographers, all of whom were specially commissioned to capture their vision of the ballpark, players, and fans.
