Description Silver with inscription on reverse Tibet , 17th century Dimensions: Height 10 cm by 9 cm Weight: 347,3 grams A protector of the dharma teachings, Acala is kneeling on a lotus podest with beaded rim in a lunge with one hand raised to the front holding a long sword. The other hand is held in front of the chest forming the karada mudra to ward off evil and holding a noose at the same time. Wavy scarfs surround the dharmapala and a fiery aureole with peaked top is behind him. The expression is fierce and the hair done up in a bun decorated with a headdress. Engravings can be seen on the flat back of the silver statue.
