Description Nepal Bronze , 12th to 13th century Dimensions: Height 16,5 cm by 6 cm Weight: 595,2 grams Also called Avalokiteshvara and Holder of the Lotus, the Bodhisattva is here standing on a double reverse lotus platform with left hand gently besides the hip with palm facing forward, varada mudra. A big lotus flower is held in his right hand. A belt is wrapped around his lower body and the cloth of his garment is blown to the right exposing his legs. Fine jewellery adorns his body and a tiara sits on his head. The eyes are downcast and the lips smiling gently. The sacred thread is falling loosely around his chest. Stone inlay highlights the bronze statue.
