The ears are elongated with a damaged part on the right ear. The eyes are closed and the nose is broad, the face with a wide mouth with full lips. A row of beads sets off the ushnisha from the hair tresses. The back of the head is flat. The Bayon temple was the centre of Mahayana Buddhist King Jayavarman VII's capital, Angkor Thom.
