Kennedy and former U.S. Attorney General died of his injuries the next day, on June 6, 1968. Sirhan Sirhan, a 24-year-old mentally unstable Palestinian-born immigrant, condemned RFK's Middle Eastern policies. He was convicted of murder and sentenced to death but this was later commuted to life in prison in 1972.
