Two pairs of French seamed brass candlesticks
Circa 1730-40The first pair with shaped moulded base and triangular section column embellished with scrolls and shells, remains of silvering visible underneath, the second pair later silvered and with shaped moulded bases and knopped and reeded column, 24cm and 24.2cm high respectively (9in and 9 1/2in high)

A very similar example to the first pair are illustrated in John Caspall, Fire and Light in the House pre 1820, Antique Collectors' Club, 1987, page 116, where it is explained that the columns are constructed of three separate sections in addition to a separate socket.
