The hat is modeled after Padmasambhava's, who is the root guru of the Nyingma tradition. Holding a long-life vase in his left hand while raising his right in vitarka mudra, this eccentric teacher looks to his left with alert silver-inlaid eyes. Provenance London Art Market, 2007
