上師銅像西藏 十七世紀 This well-proportioned bronze depicts a young master setting the Dharma in motion with his hands. Two ardent lotuses sprout from either side of the base, blooming the attributes of Manjushri – a sword and a sutra – by his shoulders. As Manjushri is the Boddhisatva of Perfected Wisdom, a number of important lamas from various orders are represented with his attributes, most notably Tsongkhapa?(1357–1419). Compare the distinct three-lobed lotus petals to that of a gilt bronze figure of Chakrasamvara sold at Bonhams, Hong Kong, 29 November 2016, lot 126. Provenance London Art Market, 2005
