This elegant tricoteuse is inspired by the celebrated example supplied by Jean-Henri Riesener to Queen Marie-Antoinette for her cabinet at the Chateau de Saint-Cloud and is now at the Musée Nissim de Camondo, see N. Gasc and G. Mabile, Le Musée Nissim de Camondo, Paris, 1991, p. 38.
