A DATED RUSSIAN ICON SHOWING THE MOTHER OF GOD 'JOY OF ALL WHO SORROW WITH THE COINS', verso dated october 18th, 1897, 35,5 x 30,5 cm // The text below reads: 'Truly copy of the holy icon MOTHER OF GOD JOY OF ALL WHO SUFFER made just as it looked after the thunderstorm on July 23, 1888 in the chapel of St. Petersburg in the area of the glass factory.' On the back is handwritten: 'Joy of all who suffer, painted on October 18th, 1897. I, David Ivanovich Posnikov got this icon and own it. Paid out of my own money and I ordered it too.'
