A group of canes pertaining to optical instruments Various dates late 19th/early 20th century Comprising a brass-mounted ivory, leather, and mahogany binocular walking stick, ivory handle unscrewing to reveal compartment containing collapsible brass and steel binoculars, with horn ferrule; a silver-mounted ivory and hardwood telescope walking stick, the shaft faux painted to resemble spotted bamboo, the ivory handle unscrewing and bottom of shaft unscrewing to reveal telescope, the silver unmarked; an American brass, steel, and mahogany surveyor's cane, the handle a removable surveyor's transit, the transit engraved "W & LE GURLEY" for W & LE Gurley, Troy, New York; and a carved ivory and ebonized wood spy glass walking stick.
