Two coral, turquoise and chalcedony-inset ritual headdresses
Nepal, first half of the 20th centuryThe first modelled as a cap, adorned with a copper-alloy plaque and sewn all around with rows of turquoise, coral and large chalcedony agate beads; the second of composite form, with a central padded red felt structure also embellished with turquoise, chalcedony and shells, flanked by two wings of braided wool and horse hair. The first: 24cm (9 1/2in) wide (2).
