Six bronze mirrors and a bell
China and Japan, 17th-19th centuryComprising four mirrors of circular form, variously decorated with designs in shallow relief and central circular boss, the largest decorated with cranes and inscribed 許朝候造; a barbed-rim mirror decorated with dragons; a Japanese circular mirror decorated with cranes; and a parcel-gilt bell cast with seal script Yi and Ling medallions, meaning 'Post' and 'Bell'. The largest mirror, 27cm (10 5/8in) diam. (7).
