A gilt-bronze figure of Siuddhu Milarepa sitting on a gusseted dais with animal-skin covering, shown leaning with his right hand raised to his ear and his left hand cradling a vessel, wearing a long robe with open front, long hair and earrings. 1.1 kg, 13cm (5"). From the Sidhu family collection; previously the property of the current owner’s late grandfather, Mr Havildar Sundar Singh Sidhu, who migrated from India to Kenya to become chief scoutmaster for Kenya in the 1950s, and later emigrated to London bringing with him his substantial collection, in the 1960s. Very fine condition.
