Notes Carel Adolph Lion Cachet (1864 - 1945) had a profound influence on design and the decorative arts in Amsterdam. His innovative use and introduction of batik commanded a new visual language. By the 1890s he was a firm decorative artist embellishing a wide range of items from books and posters to ceramics. His wide interest is seen in his Oriental collection. His works are on exhibition at the Rijks Museum Amsterdam.
