A late 18th century gilt-metal mounted mahogany table clock
William Nicolason, LondonThe bell top case with four urn finials and an applied mount over mounted front angles and cast sound frets to the side centred with a sunburst mask, on a moulded base and ogee feet, the 6.75 inch arched brass dial with Strike/Silent subsidiary over the Roman and Arabic chapter ring with plain signed centre and date aperture, matching hands and foliate scroll spandrels, the twin wire fusee movement with knife-edge verge escapement and rack strike on a bell, the backplate decorated with a plate of fruit within swags of harebells and running border 52cms (20.5ins) high.
