A number of tables with the same or practically identical 'spindle' ends to those of the above lot were produced by the firm of Gillows from 1818 onwards. The earliest example was the one Gillows supplied to Colonel Hughes in 1818, following design no. 2079, in the Estimate Sketch Books. Another such table made in the same year follows the drawing for no. 2087.
