Southern Song Dynasty (1127-1279), the deep rounded sides rising from a tapered foot to an everted rim, the centre applied with two fishes in high relief with their scales and fins well defined; the exterior carved and moulded with ribbed lotus petals radiating upward and covered overall in a pale celadon glaze; the foot rim burnt into orange in the firing, excellent condition with minor wear to glaze, from Jay Ells collection, 5 1/16" (12.8 cm), 1 5/8" (4.1 cm) high
