Description Alphonse Humbert (Swiss, 1804-1887), 18K gold and mixed materials. The pocket watch has a key wind and a presentation inscription reading: Presented to Reverend D.D. Winn by his friends of the Central Bapt. (sic) Society Salem, Mass. Jan. 2nd 1867. The watch is in its original case and comes with the original key and tortoise shell watch chain. Also accompanied by a sixth plate Daguerreotype of Daniel Damon Winn (1824-1895) as a young man circa 1855, and a ninth plate tintype of an older woman presumed to be his wife. Late in his life Winn was a minister in Woburn, Massachusetts which was also his birthplace. There is a Winn street in Woburn named for his family. Dimensions: watch measures 2 3/4 inches tall X 1 7/8 inches wide; 7 cm tall X 4.8 cm wide. Weight: 93 grams. All measurements are approximate.
