註: 此拍品附送《中國古畫集》一書。 陳仲仁(元),江右(今江西)人,陳琳弟。官至陽城主簿。善山水、人物、花鳥,為湖州安定書院山長,日與趙孟頫論畫法,孟頫多所不及。後見其寫生花鳥,含豪命思,追配古人。歎曰:『雖黄筌復生,亦復爾爾。』其重如此。 據1966年出版的《中國古畫集》,此套《花鳥四屏》,在戰前曾由香港大學及中英文化協會香港分會主理,在香港大學馮平山中文圖書館公開展覽兩次。 CHEN ZHONGREN (ATTRIBUTED TO, 13TH-14TH CENTURY) Birds and Flowers A set of four scrolls, mounted and framed, ink and colour on silk Each painting measures 137.5 x 64 cm. Chen Zhongren, a native of Jiangyou (now Jiangxi), was the younger brother of Chen Lin. Exceling in landscapes, figures and bird and flower paintings, Chen was the President of Anding College of Huzhou and engaged in artistic exchanges with Zhao Mengfu. His bird and flower paintings were praised by Zhao as being even better than those of Huang Quan of the Five Dynasties.
Birds and Flowers was exhibited twice before the war in Hong Kong at Fung Ping Shan Chinese Library of Hong Kong University and documented in the Collection of Ancient Chinese Paintings by S. M. Siu.
