QING DYNASTY CARVED LACQUER DRAGONS ARMCHAIR - This item is one of General Chen Qi’s collections. Chen Qi (1912-2000), who styled himself as “Cangquan” and “Yuquanshanren”, was a modern collector. In 1935, Chen was appointed by National Revolutionary Army to teach at the Republic of China Military Academy, also known as Huangpu Military Academy. He then was granted the rank of Major General. During his tenure, he had made a great contribution through training of military talents. He was also a frequent guest of Chiang Kai-shek and Soong Mei-ling.
