This antique porcelain plate is hand painted with a familial scene of a man, woman and child outside a house, with a famille rose patterned border around the rim of the plate. It dates from the Chinese Qianlong period (1735-96), which was considered the height of porcelain production in China, and was probably produced for export to the West. Emperor Qianlong had an extravagant taste, so porcelain wares made during this time were particularly densely decorated.
Chinese, 18th century. Dimensions: Diameter 23cm.
