A large and impressive Chinese champleve enamel lantern or incense burner stand, the bronze and copper body of heavy baluster form, cast with bands of Fu dogs and chrysanthemum above waves, and four main panels of sages, immortals and scholars within landscapes, above a spreading base with scroll cast and pierced gallery, the body enamelled with a band of taotie masks, flowering chrysanthemums and protective house demons and figures all picked out in coloured enamels on a turquoise blue cloud scroll ground, 75 high x 42cms wide at the base.
