Peinture en rouleau à décor d'un paysage de Montagnes à l'automne. Encre et couleurs sur soie. Chine, XXe siècle (1912). Dans le style de l'artiste Wen Zhengming (1470-1559), calligraphe et poète chinois de la dynastie Ming. Considéré comme un des quatre ma?tres de son époque, Wen Zhengming est celui dont l'attitude artistique incarne le mieux l'idéal lettré, tant par son caractère intransigeant que par ses oeuvres littéraires, calligraphiques et picturales. The anonymous painter here pays homage to the great master Guan Tong (9th?10th century). 2 Artist's stamps: Wen Zheng Ming and Heng Shan Guan Tong (9th?10th century) was a Chinese painter during the Liang dynasty (907-923). The tenth century saw the first great flowering of landscape art in China, which "then asserted itself in all its fullness, with unparalleled majesty, balance and spiritual depth" (P. Rychmans). Among the eminent artists of this time, Jing Hao and his disciple Guan Tong, in the north of the country, synthesised previous experiences and lay the foundations of the classical landscape which remains the canvas of the painters of the Song in the North. Wen Zhengming (1470?1559), Chinese calligrapher and poet of the Ming dynasty. Considered one of the four masters of his time, Wen Zhengming was the one for whom artistic attitude best embodies the literary ideal, as much through his character, uncompromising on matters of integrity, as through his literary works, both pictorial and in calligraphy.
