Formed in two rectangular parts, one atop the other, raised on four low cabriole legs, finely decorated in gold and mother of pearl against the black lacquer, the front and sides with a design of bamboo and prunus towering above pine sprigs beside a flowing river, the top with four cranes in flight, the doors with engraved metal mounts, the spade shaped hinges incised with leafy scrolls, the lower section with two drawers, the doors of the upper section enclosing two further drawers decorated with leafy scrolling tendrils.
