The steep-sided bowl with slightly curved sides rising from a short straight foot to a slightly flared rim, finely enamelled around the exterior with four medallions enclosing a shuangxi (double happiness) character, divided by butterflies and florets reserved on a rich coral-red ground between gilt key fret bands, the interior painted en grisaille with a phoenix, the interior rim with a keywork border to the rim in lime green, inscribed to the base with a Guangxu four-character mark in iron red.
