Description A group of tinned copper ewers and bottles, Iran and Northern India, 18th century and later, comprising a typical pyriform ewer, resting on a circular foot, rising to a tapering neck and a domed lid, with a sinuous handle, and a tall curved spout, the body engraved with four teardrop-shaped cartouches (boteh) filled with floral motifs, the handle engraved with small star motifs, 37cm high; another ewer of similar pyriform shape, the sides of the body compressed, resting on a circular foot, rising to tubular open neck without a lid, the handle and the spout both tall and curved, plain in décor apart from some striations on the body, 34cm high; and two tall bottles, each of compressed bulbous shape, resting on a hexagonal foot, rising to narrow shoulders with a tall faceted ringed neck, 40cm high.
