Chinese Qing Dynasty period, monochrome ribbed double gourd vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, ribbed five part from upper mouth to foot base rim, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a short cylindrical neck, with a straight opening lip, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slighty concave. All reserved hand painted ornamentations are rendered in masterfully covered in an even coat of a deep blue glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze. The blue glaze creates a mottled effect around the rim which is likened unto the blushing of human skin. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior.
Mark on base, a six under glazed blue seal script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of QianLong Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
