Chinese Qing Dynasty Period, red & reversed blue glazed fish plate. Potted in shallow vessel form, thick and large, slight deep, with broad wide central interior, rounded cavetto gently tapering to open wide, with straight open lip, raised with round shallow draft, slight concave base. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in cobalt blue under glazed base color which contrast against the iron red color, depicted of swim carp surrounded flower blooms, through thrashing lishui waves. The Carp Similar sounding to the word "Business" in Chinese, the carp symbolizes a wish for benefit or advantage in business, and accepted to represent longevity, wealth, abundance, and perseverance. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
Mark on base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, enclosed within double fine rings, Made in The Years of Kangxi Reign Period of Great Qing Dynasty.
