Chinese Ming Dynasty period, Green Dragon over yellow ground lobbed body porcelain double gourd bottle vase. Potted in a shape of double gourd resemblance, with two bulbous bellies conjoined together, bulbous lower section finishing into a slender bottleneck at the top, suspending a short cylindrical neck, with a straight opening lip, raised on slightly short splayed foot base and slighty concave. The exterior hand painted ornamentations are rendered in yellow under glazed base color which contrast against green dragons motif. The colors are harmonious, elegant and exquisite, the composition is sophisticated, simply a feast for the eye. The porcelain displays a subtle sheen as the light ricochets across the finely glazed exterior.
Mark on base, a six under glazed blue script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
