Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Red fishes over blue ground jar. Potted with a large cylinder vessel, jar shape, having thick and tall potted body, sturdily potted in slight ovoid belly, heavy on shoulder gently tapered on short neck, toward opening mouth prominent, with slight flaring opening lip, and raised on flat wide round foot base. The exterior decorated with hand-painting in deep blue under glazed base color which contrast against the red fine color, depicted of big fish swims. The Carp Similar sounding to the word "Business" in Chinese, the carp symbolizes a wish for benefit or advantage in business, and accepted to represent longevity, wealth, abundance, and perseverance. The clay is very fine, with a brilliant glaze finish that was applied by a meticulous, the shape is uniformly proportioned.
