Chinese Ming Dynasty Period, Blanc De Chine Dragon sgraffito Porcelain Meiping jar. The porcelain shaped into a traditional Meiping form, large, thick and tall potted, wide body on shoulder, slender neck easing to form narrow opening, with emerging slight flaring ring mouth rim, raised on round foot base, with slight concave. All reserved in pale white under glazed ground, Masterfully covered in an even coat of a pale white glaze which terminates at the base to reveal the pure white under glaze revealing the vigorous dragon motif. The foot rim reveals the cut edges during the making process, and the receded central interior base left white underglaze.The immaculate porcelain body covered with a characteristic silky glaze, amazing crackling effect throughout the under glaze which produces fantastic a smooth textured surface.
Mark on base a six carved script characters reign mark, Made in The Years of Jiajing Reign Period of Great Ming Dynasty.
